Healthtech / wellness app

Overview
Intermittent fasting was gaining serious momentum in mainstream health culture, but the tools available were either too clinical, too basic, or both. There was no app that combined the science credibility researchers expected with the motivation and community features that kept everyday users coming back.
As product design lead, I designed LIFE Fasting Tracker from the ground up: the interaction model, visual identity, onboarding experience, real-time tracking interface, and the social "Circles" feature that became one of the app's defining differentiators. Within months of launch it became one of the top-rated health apps in the App Store, accumulating 4 million downloads, a 4.8 star rating, and earning 3 design patents.

Approach
The central design challenge was bridging two audiences that rarely share an app: people who want to understand the science, and people who just want to feel better and stay motivated. Both needed to feel like the app was built for them.
I built the experience around three pillars. First, clarity: the fasting timer and progress interface needed to communicate state and progress at a glance, with zero friction. Second, science as motivation: rather than hiding the biology, we surfaced it at the right moments, turning health insights into rewards for staying consistent. Third, community: the Circles social feature gave users accountability groups that kept engagement high long after the novelty of a new app wore off.
Smart onboarding adapted the experience to each user's goals and fasting history, reducing early drop-off. The visual language was clean and calm, deliberately avoiding the aggressive aesthetic most fitness apps default to. Fasting is a practice of restraint, and the design reflected that.

Result
LIFE Fasting Tracker became one of the highest-rated health apps in the App Store within months of launch. Over 4 million users downloaded the app, forming tens of thousands of Circles for peer accountability and support. The interaction and visual design earned 3 design patents, recognizing the originality of the product experience. The app established LifeOmic as a credible consumer health platform alongside its enterprise product line.
